Rhiannon Giddens

North Carolina singer and multi-instrumentalist Rhiannon Giddens uses banjo, fiddle and a conservatory-trained voice to trace the Black roots of American music. A founding member of the Grammy-winning Carolina Chocolate Drops, she was named a MacArthur Fellow in 2017 and won the 2023 Pulitzer Prize for Music for the opera Omar, co-composed with Michael Abels.
