Formed in New York City in 1990 out of the city's hardcore scene, Quicksand pairs guitarist-vocalist Walter Schreifels (ex-Gorilla Biscuits, Youth of Today) with bassist Sergio Vega and drummer Alan Cage. Their 1993 debut Slip traded hardcore's speed for heavier, groove-driven riffs and helped shape what became known as post-hardcore. The band's fifth album, Bring On The Psychics, arrives in July 2026 on Equal Vision Records.
