Formed in 1999 in Whitby, Ontario, Protest the Hero are a progressive metal band known for labyrinthine song structures, technical guitar work and Rody Walker's soaring vocals. Their 2008 album Fortress topped the Canadian chart, and the crowdfunded Volition (2013) won the Juno Award for Metal Album of the Year.
