Modest Mouse is an indie rock band formed in 1993 in Issaquah, Washington, around singer-guitarist Isaac Brock. After years on independent labels, they broke through with 2004's "Good News for People Who Love Bad News" and its single "Float On." Their angular guitars and wry, restless lyrics made them a touchstone of American indie rock.
