Mariel Buckley

Canadian singer-songwriter Mariel Buckley grew up in Calgary and writes plainspoken alt-country shaded with folk and rock, carried by a low, unhurried voice. Her third full-length, Strange Trip Ahead (2025), won the 2026 Juno Award for Contemporary Roots Album of the Year. An openly queer artist, she now splits her time between Edmonton and Nashville.
