Mali Obomsawin is a bassist, singer and composer from the Abenaki Nation at Odanak, Quebec, now based in New York. Her work moves between free jazz, traditional song and experimental rock. Her 2022 solo debut "Sweet Tooth" drew acclaim across jazz, avant-garde and folk circles, and she scored the Oscar-nominated documentary "Sugarcane." She also fronts the rock band Deerlady.
