American singer and songwriter born in Washington, D.C. to Ethiopian parents. She shapes an R&B built on electronic texture, working with producers rooted in UK club scenes. The mixtape "Cut 4 Me" (2013), followed by the Warp Records albums "Take Me Apart" (2017) and "Raven" (2023), established her as a distinctive voice in the genre. Her third album, "new avatar," arrived in July 2026.
