Kataklysm is a death metal band formed in Montreal in September 1991, known for the fast, technical attack they dubbed the Northern Hyperblast. Signed to Nuclear Blast in 1994, they released their debut album Sorcery in 1995 and have since issued roughly fifteen studio records, most recently Goliath in 2023. Their 2015 album Of Ghosts and Gods earned the band a Juno Award in the heavy metal category.
