Jembaa Groove came together in Berlin in late 2020 around bassist Yannick Nolting and Ghanaian singer-percussionist Eric Owusu. The seven-piece band threads West African highlife through the warmth of 1970s soul, a blend it calls Afro-soul. Debut album Susuma arrived on Agogo Records in 2022 and won airplay from BBC 6 Music, KEXP and KCRW.
