The Hong Kong Gaudeamus Dunhuang Ensemble was founded in Hong Kong in 2018 by philanthropist Leonie Ki Man-fung, guided by dizi and xiao player Ricky Yeung. Its eight musicians and two composers reconstruct the lost music of Dunhuang, drawing on the instruments and ensembles painted in the Mogao caves and on Tang dynasty pipa scores. The group has given more than sixty concerts across Hong Kong and mainland China, and has begun performing outside Asia.
