Fruit Bats

Fruit Bats is the long-running project of American singer and guitarist Eric D. Johnson, born in Chicago in the late 1990s. The music threads folk, soft-focus seventies pop and indie rock through Johnson's high, unmistakable voice and a knack for melody that has kept a devoted audience for a quarter-century. Alongside Fruit Bats, Johnson writes for film and plays in the trio Bonny Light Horseman. The album The Landfill arrived in June 2026 on Merge Records.
