Death from Above 1979 is a Canadian rock duo from Toronto, formed in 2001 by bassist Jesse F. Keeler and drummer-vocalist Sebastien Grainger. With no guitarist, the pair built a raw, noisy dance-punk sound on bass and drums alone. Their debut album You're a Woman, I'm a Machine (2004) became a cult favourite. After breaking up, they reunited in 2011 and released The Physical World (2014), Outrage! Is Now (2017) and Is 4 Lovers (2021).
