Daniil Trifonov

Daniil Trifonov is a Russian pianist born in 1991 in Nizhny Novgorod, who broke through in 2011 by winning the Arthur Rubinstein Competition and the Tchaikovsky Competition, taking the latter's Grand Prix as well. A composer as well as a performer, he trained at the Cleveland Institute of Music under Sergei Babayan. His Liszt etudes album "Transcendental" earned him a Grammy Award, and he records for Deutsche Grammophon.
