Cat Power is the stage name of Chan Marshall, a Georgia-born American singer-songwriter who has been a fixture of indie rock since the 1990s. Her smoky voice and spare songwriting, released largely through Matador Records, shaped albums such as Moon Pix and The Greatest, the latter cut in Memphis with veteran Southern soul players. Through 2026 she performs The Greatest front to back for its 20th anniversary, backed by her Dirty Delta Blues band.
