Bonnie “Prince” Billy

Bonnie “Prince” Billy is the name Will Oldham has used for most of his music since 1998. Born in Louisville, Kentucky in 1970, he first recorded under the shifting Palace banner (Palace Brothers, Palace Music) and acted in films including John Sayles's Matewan. Across more than twenty studio albums his quavering voice and spare, sombre songwriting have made him a touchstone of American indie folk and country.
