Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears

Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears come out of Austin, Texas, and have been hammering out a mix of raw blues, garage rock and horn-driven soul since 2007. Guitarist and singer Joe Lewis fronts the band with a ragged howl that owes as much to Howlin' Wolf as to James Brown, riding grimy riffs and a punchy horn section. Their 2009 album Tell 'Em What Your Name Is! broke them out, but the live show is where the reputation was built.
