Icelandic singer-songwriter Ásgeir Trausti Einarsson, born in 1992, had one of the fastest starts in his country's music history: debut album Dýrð í dauðaþögn reportedly reached roughly one in ten Icelandic households. Blending folk, muted electronics and a high, floating falsetto, he crossed over internationally with the English-language version In the Silence. His fifth album, Julia, arrived in early 2026 and is the first on which he wrote all the lyrics himself.
