Asal

Asal Karimzadeh, who records simply as Asal, is an Iranian-born, Vancouver-based singer-songwriter. She grew up in a musical household - a singer mother, a keyboardist father - and got her first guitar at seven. Self-releasing since 2022, she broke through with Headache and Liars & Players, both on her 2024 EP Missing Something. Her album Kiss the Sun, written and entirely self-recorded in the aftermath of her father's death, arrived in May 2026. Her sound sits where alt-pop, '90s R&B and indie-electronic production meet.
