American Football

An emo band from Urbana, Illinois, American Football lasted barely three years the first time around, from 1997 to 2000, long enough to leave a self-titled album of interlocking, open-tuned guitars that became a touchstone for later generations. Mike Kinsella, Steve Holmes and Steve Lamos reactivated the band in 2014. Their fourth record, LP4, anchors the No Feeling Tour, which stops at History in Toronto.
