Alice Cooper, born Vincent Furnier in 1948, is the American singer who pioneered shock rock. From 'School's Out' (1972) to Welcome to My Nightmare, his theatrical shows — guillotines, snakes and smeared black makeup — shaped the visual language of horror-tinged hard rock. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011, he continues to tour, including the Alice's Attic Tour.
