Canadian rock band formed in 1981 in Tsawwassen, British Columbia, and fronted since the start by singer Neil Osborne. The name comes from the slogan "Fifty-Four Forty or Fight," tied to the 19th-century Oregon boundary dispute. A fixture of Canadian rock, they wrote I Go Blind, later covered by Hootie & the Blowfish, along with Ocean Pearl and One Day in Your Life, and have been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
