Formed near Vancouver in 1981, 54-40 are a cornerstone of Canadian alternative rock, taking their name from a slogan of the nineteenth-century Oregon boundary dispute. Led by singer and chief songwriter Neil Osborne, the band wrote enduring songs such as Ocean Pearl and One Day in Your Life, and has kept touring steadily for four decades.
